Child of the Enlightenment

I departed the blogging world for some months as I worked on a number of academic related projects (department honors thesis for political science and law school applications). After being away and some encouragement from others, I decided to return to blogging. I missed it I must admit and think it will be a good distraction again in my life.

Instead of just talking about politics and current events all the time, I think I will throw some cultural and academic elements into the blog.

I chose the name “Child of the Enlightenment” because a few friends of mine claimed I could care less about anything that happened before the Enlightenment and thus I am a “Child of the Enlightenment.” While I must admit I concur with this sentiment to a point, I do enjoy a lot of thought predating the Enlightenment. That does not mean I agree with it though.
