About

I, Ryan, am a senior at Hillsdale College with a double major in political science and history.  I plan on attending law school starting in the fall of 2008. Interests include politics, history, reading, shopping, debate/discussion, cooking, and traveling. I can be described as a very energetic, ambitious, stylish, responsible, direct, and dedicated.

Politically speaking… I admit I probably suffer from political bipolarity. On some issues, I lean heavily to the right, on others I lean fairly heavily to the left, on others I lean to the center.  As a friend once put it: “If Ryan’s politics were like a fly ball, it would be caught by the center-fielder, but only after he ran a little to the right.”

Personally speaking… I do not have a significant other at the moment. As another friend puts it, I am attracted to “women with ambition, style, and intelligence.” Basically as my mother says, “the snotty stylish sophisticated types.”

Why did I choose “Child of the Enlightenment?” I chose the name “Child of the Enlightenment” because a few friends of mine claimed I could care less about anything that happened before the Enlightenment and thus I am a “Child of the Enlightenment.” While I must admit I concur with this sentiment to a point, I do enjoy a lot of thought predating the Enlightenment. That does not mean I agree with it though.
